Commitment
Jose was raised on a strong work ethic and learned the importance of helping others. Coming from a farm working background, he also understood the pride a day’s hard work brings. Jose grew up picking strawberries, working in factories and restaurants, and helping his dad manager St. Joseph Homeless Shelter in Mt. Angel. Ultimately, Jose went into the real estate industry & is now entering his 23rd year at Tu Casa Real Estate.
His experience is what many in Salem experience every day – working hard. But he learned that no matter what he did it was just serving people in different ways.
Juntos – Together
Coming from the outside of government, Jose believes it takes all of us coming together to achieve our goals. We can’t rely on local government to solve all our issues because that is unsustainable. Instead, by friends, family, and neighbors coming together, we can make our communities better. His energy and commitment to Salem will ensure we have the city our children will be proud to call home.
Jose wants to ensure we have the right size of local government to tackle pressing issues like homelessness, growth, and neighborhood safety and ensure the community’s tax dollars are managed responsibly.
We’re all in this together, that will never change, we can accomplish our goals if relationships are based on mutual trust. Salem can remain a great city, but it starts with every one of us in Ward 5 – not the other way around.
